The KEF LS50 Wireless are without a doubt some of the best active bookshelf speakers you can buy, and right now you can purchase a pair of them for $1,800. When we reviewed them in 2018, we called the speaker pair a “one-stop-shop hi-fi system.” Each speaker has two built-in amplifiers, one for its tweeter and one for its woofer, and a dedicated DAC (up to 24-bit/192kHz) and DSP for each. They’re also incredibly powerful, pushing out 230-watts per channel, meaning these are not for small rooms (they get loud).

What also makes the KEF LS50 Wireless so neat is that they’re incredibly versatile — you can basically listen to them however you want. They have built-in Wi-Fi and work seamlessly with Spotify and Tidal; you can stream to the speakers directly from those apps. The speakers also have built-in Bluetooth (aptX), making it easy for anybody to play music (not just those connected to Wi-Fi). And have a number of wired connections (optical, USB-A. RCA), meaning you can quickly and easily turn them into your TV’s or turntable’s speakers.

When KEF released the LS50 Wireless several years ago, they were selling for $2,200. The $400 discount drops them to $1,800, which is still expensive, but it’s actually the most we’ve seen this speaker system has ever been discounted.
