Some people can’t wear over-ear headphones. The large earpads crush their ears, causing discomfort, and it’s just not worth it. However, some of those same people would still like the benefits of active noise-canceling, which is way more common in over-ear headphones rather than in-ear headphones. So where to look?
There’s really only one place. Even though there are a bunch of really good over-ear noise-canceling headphones – the Sony WH-1000XM3 being our new favorites, edging out the Bose QC35 II – there aren’t nearly as many good in-ear models. In fact, Bose makes the two best noise-canceling in-ear headphones out there. There’s the Bose QC20s ($250, wired) and the Bose QC30s ($300, wireless). Both are fairly expensive, but you can get a pretty good deal on the wired models if you go on eBay right now. There you’ll find the Bose QC20s for $129, which is $120 less than buying from Bose directly.
