Bang & Olufsen just announced its new flagship noise-canceling headphones, the Beoplay H95, and they cost $800. That’s twice as expensive as the leading noise-canceling headphones made by Bose and Sony. So, what are getting for that exorbitant amount of dough? According to Bang & Olufsen, it’s the “ultimate luxury travel headphones.”
“Luxury travel” isn’t particularly plausible here in 2020, but the Beoplay H95 are pretty stunning headphones nonetheless. They’re made of really high-end materials like brushed aluminum and lambskin leather, with soft memory foam earpads. And they come with a really luxe aluminum carrying case that perfectly matches the headphones.
Bang & OlufsenThe Beoplay H95 headphones have 40mm titanium drivers with neodymium magnets and are also packed with the company’s most advanced noise-canceling technology ever, according to Bang & Olufsen. They have advanced four-microphone array to help with call clarity. And, finally, they supposedly get 38 hours of playtime with ANC turned on, which is pretty exceptional.
We can’t compare the Beoplay H95 to other, more affordable top-end offerings, like Sony WH-1000XM4 and Bose Headphones 700 until we’ve had ears on, but if you’re willing to dish out double the dough on the Beoplay H95, you’re really paying for the luxury and design of these unique headphones.
The Beoplay H95 headphones will be available in two finishes, black or grey mist. Band & Olufsen is selling a limited run of 95 pairs right now, but anybody will be able to buy pair when they officially become available on September 10.
