In early March, Apple introduced a convenient feature that whenever you used Shazam (accessed from your iPhone’s Control Center) to recognize a song, that song would then automatically sync to a new “My Shazam Tracks” playlist in your Spotify or Apple Music app.
That way, you could easily go back to see and listen to the songs you were interested in. It was a feature that was simple and admittedly a little niche … yet useful.
Fast forward to today, and Apple has introduced another simple feature that revolves around Shazam (which, if you didn’t know, Apple purchased back in 2018).

A Viral playlist
The feature is called Viral Chart — it’s a playlist that leverages Shazam’s data and aggregates the 50 most Shazam’d songs on any given day. Yes, the playlist is updated daily with the latest most-searched songs.
According to Apple, “Shazam’s new Viral Chart playlist doesn’t just track TikTok hits — it captures the full spectrum of songs blowing up right now, whether through streaming, socials, TV placements, or that random 2004 banger suddenly resurfacing at bars and baseball games.”
It’s worth noting that this is a global feature, so it’s far more wide-reaching than just the 50 most Shazam’d songs in the US. But if you’re someone who wants to stay up-to-date with what the “cool kids” are listening to, it’s neat.
