August announced its newest smart lock at CES 2020. It’s called the August Wi-Fi Smart Lock and it’s essentially a smaller version of the company’s Smart Lock Pro (August says this new model is 45-percent smaller). The new August Wi-Fi Smart Lock is a little bit different as it doesn’t a separate hub to work and connect to your home’s Wi-Fi. That means an easier setup process for you, plus less hardware cluttering up your home.

The new model has the same exact capabilities and features as the company’s previous Smart Lock Pro. It situates itself on the back of your door and even though it require some light installation, it won’t require you to replace your door’s entire deadbolt. It’s battery powered. And it is compatible with pretty much every smart home system, including Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple’s HomeKit.

As far as price, that’s an unknown for right now as August announced its pricing. If we had to speculate, it’ll probably be slightly more expensive than August’s Smart Lock Pro, which currently retails for $229. August says the Wi-Fi Smart Lock will be available later this year.
