Before Apple officially announced its latest batch of iPhones, the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, last month, there were rumblings that Tim Cook would reveal a new-and-improved version of the pocketable iPhone SE — released in 2016 and discontinued last year.
Unfortunately for users who loved the SE’s 4-inch display, Cook said nothing about the phone’s second coming. But that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill. Here’s everything we think we know about the iPhone SE 2.
It Could Come Out as Soon as Early 2020
Fresh rumors out of MacRumors predict that Apple is expected to release the iPhone SE 2 in Q1 of 2020. In the past, this has meant the company’s annual March event. Pricing could be as low as $399.
It May Look Nothing Like the Original SE
According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone SE “2” might draw more inspiration from the design of the iPhone 8 than the SE. For those counting inches, the iPhone 8 had a 4.7-inch display not the aforementioned 4 inches. That’s still much slimmer than the smallest new phone Apple sells, iPhone 11 Pro (5.8 inches).
