It’s tradition that as soon as a new top tear gadget comes out, someone gets to ripping it apart to find out exactly what’s inside. Once liberated from its iPhone body, the iPhone Pro 11 Max battery is visibly thicker than the battery in the iPhone XS Max, as well as being a full L shape. And, according to the components’ markings, the new battery is rated to 15.04 watt-hours vs the 12.06 watt-hour rating of the XS Max battery. Increases in battery life don’t only come from bigger batteries. Effeciency improvements on the CPU and software level can also help eke out extra life, but there’s nothing quite like more lithium-ion into ensure that your phone will last into the wee hours of the morning, so it’s great to see Apple decided to pull out all the stops.
