The Samsung Galaxy Book S is the company’s newest ultra-light and ultra-thin laptop. It has a 13.3-inch touchscreen and, most interestingly, it runs on a Qualcomm processor, which have traditionally been less powerful but more energy efficient than Intel processors, and this will help the Galaxy Book S have up to a 23-hour battery life a single charge. Which is huge.

The catch with its 23-hour battery life is that Samsung says the Galaxy Book S will be able to achieve it while playing continuous videos; it’s likely with normal laptop use, i.e multitasking, the battery won’t last quite that long. However, the Galaxy Book S will be running on a new type of Qualcomm processor, specifically a Snapdragon 8cx processor, which Samsung claims will give the Galaxy Book S a boost 40-percent boost in CPU performance and a 80-percent boost in graphics performance than the Galaxy Book 2, its predecessor. Essentially, the Galaxy Book S might be more powerful than most people think.

The other neat thing with the Samsung Galaxy Book S is that, thanks to a new partnership between Samsung and Microsoft, it will have OneDrive cloud storage and Microsoft’s Your Phone app. This means that if you have Galaxy Note 10 smartphone, which was also announced yesterday, you’ll be able to easily access and move files, photos and video between the two devices. You’ll be able to answer calls and send texts right from your laptop. You’ll even be able to charge the two devices with the same USB-C cable.

The Galaxy Book S will be available this September, in either gold or gray finishes, and it’ll start at $999.
