LenovoLenovo has made it clear that it intends to grab a piece of the Android pie with its K2 and S2 IdeaTab tablets. Both of the portable, but not groundbreakingly thin, 10.1-inch tablets will run Android 4.0. The higher-end K2 is one of the first tablets to feature a 1080p screen. Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 mobile processor is also on board to help with HD video playback and gaming. Other high-end features include a rear fingerprint scanner for security, a four-speaker surround sound system, 2GB of ram, and a 8MP rear camera.
The lower-end S2 (pictured above) pulls a few tricks from Asus’s Transformer Prime playbook and combines the portability of a tablet with a keyboard accessory. While the S2’s dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 process can’t compete with the Prime’s quad-core power, the inclusion of 64GB solid state drive, 3G connectivity, and front and rear-facing cameras make it on par with the market in terms of features. The keyboard docking system packs two USB 2.0 ports, a card reader, and an additional battery that can boost the tablets internal battery time of 8 hours up to a whopping 20. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
