Logitech just announced a new wireless headset called the Zone Wireless ($200) specifically designed for people who work in open offices. It comes with a number of productivity features, including active noise cancellation to tune out loud coworkers, simple tap controls to quickly answer calls or play/pause music, and a microphone boom with an omnidirectional dual mic array to ensure crystal clear calls. The headset is also compatible with most major video calling apps, including Skype for Business, Zoom, Fuze and Microsoft Teams.
Logitech says that the Zone Wireless headset is comfortable enough to be worn all day. It has a lightweight headband, ergonomic design and padded leatherette ear pads. It also comes with features that are unique to most other headsets. It can wirelessly charge using any Qi-wireless charging pad. Its microphone boom, when raised and lowered, automatically mutes and unmutes the mic, which is a convenient way to prevent the person you’re on the phone with doesn’t hear a side conversation. The headset can easily switch between multiple devices, like your smartphone or work computer, too.
The Zone Wireless headset is designed to do the job of two headphones. It’s great for calls and business applications, thus it’s a really good workplace headset, but it’s excellent noise-cancellation and sound quality mean it’s also just a good pair of headphones for music. However, its conspicuous microphone boom will probably prevent you from wearing it outside the office.
