In many respects, the newest addition to LG’s super-premium Signature series, the OLED TV R, is just like the company’s other beautiful 4K OLED TVs. The specs and picture quality are basically identical to the company’s $8,000 “wallpaper” OLED TV. The biggest difference, however, is represented in the “R” in its name, which stands for “rollable.” Yes, the LG Signature OLED TV R is the first rollable OLED TV and, coming this spring, it’s going to be available to consumers everywhere. When you want to watch movies or shows, the OLED TV R will emerge out of its media console-looking box; afterward, it rolls back and out of your line of sight. It feels like a projector, but with way better picture quality.

It’s safe to say that most of us have grown used to the idea of a TV – or big mirror-looking box – as a commonplace piece of future, whether hanging on the wall or perched on some kind of stand (or other furniture). But the OLED TV R is designed for those who don’t see things that way. They see televisions as eyesores that should be there when you need them and not there when you don’t.

If you remember, LG actually revealed a prototype of the OLED TV R last year at CES. Now that it’s finally ready for market, this new model is much more refined. It base-slash-credenza is more polished and thought-out, and also features a 100-watt Dolby Atmos soundbar. Even when the TV is not in use, you’ll still be able to stream music through its powerful speaker. Like the many smart TVs at CES, LG will be rolling out updates so that they support Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands, and they’ll also support AirPlay 2, which feels like a big deal.

Now, as cool as the LG Signature OLED TV R is, its price tag might be equally as scary. LG has yet to announce pricing for its new glamour TV, but considering it’s essentially a way cooler version of the “wallpaper” OLED TV, with a pretty impressive soundbar, you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s going to cost more than $8,000. Maybe significantly more.

The LG Signature OLED TV R will also only be available in one size: 65-inches.
