You’ve probably noticed that people have taken their Instagram Stories to the next level. Seriously. Instead of the candid photos and videos that have been relegated to the “expires in 24 hours” section, Instagram Stories now have framed borders, beautiful text and some even look like polished collages or scrapbooks. Clearly, people are taking some serious time to make them look good.
More accurately, they’re spending a few minutes using this app. It’s called Unfold — it’s free — and it allows you to load photos from your camera roll, do simple-yet-creative things to them, then post them directly to Instagram or Instagram Stories. You’re not required to create an account. Nor are there really any other hoops to jump through; other photo-editing apps, like VSCO or Snapseed, can be a bit confusing for the uninitiated. It’s refreshingly easy to use.
If you’re interested in learning more about the app before taking the plunge, Refinery29 talked to the founders of the app and they also tell the story of its development. Otherwise, you can download the app by clicking the below link and dive right in.
