For the past two weeks, we’ve had the opportunity to go hands on with a unique piece of gear that’s found itself firmly planted at the epicenter of the hype-machine, the Fuji FinePix X100. And like a lot of hyped products (Apple comes to mind), the X100 has amassed legions of fans who love its purpose-focused features and killer design while defamers consider it another plaything for the early adopters and style conscious. Even worse, the fact that the X100 is torturously difficult to find only compounds the fury.
So with that, we thought a full-review might be in order, but instead we’re going to take a slightly different approach and break it up into two parts: looking at the camera (literally) with photos of the X100 today and Monday in a follow-up post, share photos taken with the camera along with our thoughts (briefly: it’s captivating, inspiring and flawed). The results should speak for themselves, but like any photograph we’ll let you be the judge.
