Amazon’s newly announced Echo Spot ($130) is a hybrid of Amazon’s Echo Dot and Echo Show smart speakers. It has a screen like the Echo Show, albeit one that’s round and smaller (just 2.5 inches), and it can make video calls, control smart devices and play music via Alexa, both abilities shared by the Echo Dot and Echo Show. The Echo Spot is small and fairly inexpensive ($130), like the Dot; the idea is that you’ll place several of them around the house as security or nursery cameras. According to Amazon, the Echo Spot is designed to be an excellent alarm clock a well.

The Echo Spot will be available this December for $130.
