Acer’s 4K Ultra HD home cinema projectors, the H7850 and V7850, are finally available for purchase in the U.S. According to Acer, they are currently the world’s smallest 4K Ultra HD projectors.
The Acer H7850 ($2,000), which won a Red Dot Award for product design earlier in 2017, is the brighter of the two models. It has a rating of 3,000 lumens, meaning it’s best for people who want to place their projector in a bright room. The Acer V7850 ($2,500)‘s rating of 2,200 lumens makes it better suited for dark rooms dedicated strictly to watching flicks. The V7850 boasts RGBRGB color wheel which helps it produce a wider and more natural range of colors. Basically, with the more expensive V7850, you’re sacrificing brightness for pristine realism.
For cinephiles who don’t want to be restricted by the size of a display, the H7850 and V7850 are both able to project 4K imagery up to 120 inches. Each supports HDR content and features AcuMotion technology to smooth out blur in your favorite fast-action scenes. Both projectors have a lifespan of 15,000 hours, or 625 days of continuous use.
