If you’ve bought a new smartphone in the last few years, there’s a good chance that it supports wireless charging. Wireless charging is convenient because it allows you to charge your smartphone without the need for a charging cable. You just place it on the charging pad or stand and — boom — it starts charging. (As Steve Jobs liked to say, it just works.)
There are a couple of tradeoffs that come with wireless charging, however. The main one is that it typically won’t charge your smartphone as fast as a wired connection can. In addition, wireless charging solutions are a little more expensive than the old-fashioned power cord.
