Looking back on our lives, we can always ID distinct inflection points, moments where things forever change.

A big one for me (EDC-wise anyway) was that time a few years ago when I upgraded from a traditional leather wallet to a minimalist option from the wizards at Ridge. I said goodbye to bulky pockets and haven’t looked back.

However, a new Kickstarter project from the warlocks at Titaner has me wondering if it’s time for another game-changing wallet upgrade.

It’s called, simply, the Titanium EDC Wallet, and there’s much more to it than meets the eye.

Intelligent design

Made of tough aerospace-grade titanium measuring just 10mm thick, this wallet packs amply functionality into a slim space, in an unfussy way that is unerringly geared toward easy, even joyful, use.

Use the sculpted grooves to flip it open (a full 360 degrees) on its axis, for example, and you may notice a small ridge along the base of one inner compartment, curving up to the outer rim.

This is the “card slide,” essentially a little ramp that lets you flick cards out of the quick draw slot (where you’ll place your most in-demand cards) with the thumb of the hand holding the wallet, rather than having to pry them with the fingernails of your opposite hand.

Once done, a little flick of the wrist folds it back up, with a magnetic closure ensuring it stays put.

Opposite to the quick draw side is the “ammo cache,” which houses space for our more cards, complete with an anti-escape card lock feature: rubber retention pillars on both sides of the chamber prevent your precious plastic from slipping out.

Adding security to the whole affair is an RFID firewall, which should bring peace of mind to readers with identities someone might actually want to steal.

Tiny toolbox

All of which brings us to the most 007-ish aspect of the wallet, something Titaner calls the “hidden chamber” — although it is really not all that hidden.

Beneath whatever card(s) you place in the quick-draw slot resides a foam-lined underdeck that can accommodate tiny tech such as TF and SD cards.

Even cooler, however, is the fact that Titaner throws in a trio of tiny tools that will almost definitely outpunch their weight.

One is a five-function pentagonal multi-tool crafted from ultra-tough 440C stainless steel, offering Phillips head screwdrivers, flathead drivers and an I-slot nut wrench.

Another is a No. 11 surgical-grade blade, perfect for opening letters and boxes (though you might want to ditch it when you fly).

Last but not least is a sneaky SIM pin you can use to remove a SIM card from a phone (very James Bond). The way it is constructed, you can also half slide it out of the card and use the protruding squared loop to attach a keychain or AirTag.

Bottom line: Watch your back, Ridge, this thing is literally coming for your lunch money.

Availability and pricing

The Titaner EDC Wallet is available on Kickstarter for the launch day special price of $99 for an aluminum version and $179 for the titanium version. Estimated delivery is September 2025.
