White’s Boots was founded in 1853 in West Virginia. The company moved to Spokane, Washington in 1915 and its boots quickly became the favorites of loggers across the Northwest due to unmatched stability and durability in the field. Over the last hundred years, White’s has continued to supply boots to forestry workers and smoke jumpers, while also expanding to offer more traditional styles for everyday wear.
Its latest style, called the MP Service Boot, is a cap toe style inspired by standard-issue boots used in World War II. The all-leather construction features a leather shank, leather midsole and 6-inch leather upper. It also utilizes hand-welted construction, a half-lug sole and gunmetal eyelets.
While not inexpensive (prices start at $560), this handmade boot is customizable and is available in sizes 5 to 13, widths B to EE and nine different leathers. Sure, it’s an investment, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a better quality boot on the market.
