Nicks Custom Boots in Spokane, Washington teamed up with local brand The Great PNW to produce a lightweight adventure boot. Featuring an upper made with 6-ounce Stampede leather from Seidel and an Arctic Grip sole from Vibram, the PNW Drifter is appropriate for both daily wear around town and weekends in the woods.
As with the serious work boots Nicks Boots is known for, these boots don’t skimp on construction and are completely rebuildable. Built on the HNW moderate arch last (which helps distribute body weight evenly through the heel, arch and ball of the foot), the style features a leather insole, hand-carved leather arch and leather shank. Made with McKay lockstitch construction, which is triple stitched for durability, the style is available in half sizes from 6 to 15 and widths from AA to FFF.
If you don’t know your exact measurements, Nicks recommends filling out a Fit-sheet to guarantee the ideal size. The PNW Drifter model retails for $437, which, though expensive, is a very fair price for the features, level of craftsmanship and options available.
