One of the bright spots in J.Crew’s dark recent history has been its Killshot sneaker collaboration with Nike. First released in 2016, the vintage styled tennis shoes have inspired a cult-like following. Unfortunately, this enthusiasm — combined with the shoe’s limited quantities and periodic releases — have inflated the resale price of the sneaker (currently around $125 on StockX) and made them hard to find. But hunting for a used pair online isn’t the only way to sport that attractive colorway on your feet.
Nike’s SB Team Classic sneakers boast much of the same appeal, and cost just $65. The upper features a suede toe and heel counter along with a textile mid and blue swoosh. Those elements paired with the gum sole give these sneakers the same old-school look that made the Killshot so popular — for just about half the price. And in addition to being more affordable, Nike’s SB Team Classics feature a stretchy, gusseted tongue along with a unique traction pattern on the sole for a comfortable sock-like fit that can be worn all day. Not bad, considering they’re such a steal at full price.
