Like Madonna and the wheel, Converse’s iconic Chuck Taylor sneaker has been reinvented more times than many of us can count. And the brand’s reinterpretation of the classic shoe continues today, with an outdoorsy edition of the Chuck 70.
In addition to the gray seen above, the $90 shoes come in black, deep red and yellow colorways. Crafted with a durable canvas upper, high rubber siding and an OrthoLite insole for extra cushioning, these shoes were made to take a beating. But even though each pair is outfitted with hiking-style laces, they almost look a little too sharp for the trail. We’d probably reserve these for expeditions in an urban jungle — and let some of the best hiking boots we’ve seen this year do the heavy lifting.
