Canadian heritage bootmaker Viberg released a horsehide sneaker that spares no details. In order to produce the shoe entirely in-house, Viberg invested in new machinery to construct the athletic-inspired style. The sneaker features an Italian horsehide upper with contrasting smooth and roughout panels sitting atop a Vibram Sphike RGS sole. Unlike many sneakers, Viberg’s style has a heavyweight leather insole and a removable leather and foam footbed.

With a cemented construction, this is the only sneaker made entirely in Canada and retails for $490 (expensive, but modestly priced compared to the brand’s boots). Most importantly, the sneaker is aesthetically similar to Viberg’s respected boots and is devoid of obtuse branding and loud colors. It’s a well-made luxury sneaker that doesn’t need to be in your face or aggressive to justify its existence.
