Here’s a little known fact: Minnesota bootmaker Red Wing makes a formidable alternative to Alden’s classic Indy boot, and no, it’s not the Beckman. The Girard boot is a svelte offering that’s more urbane than the rugged, boxy silhouettes Red Wing is known for. Available in black or black cherry, the Girard is based on a classic Moccasin-toe dress boot from the early 1900s and sit on anti-slip soles developed specifically for Red Wing in the 1920s.

The catch? It’s only available in Asia. However, this pair on eBay somehow found its way to Arizona. Though listed as a size 9, Red Wings run large, so they might fit a size 9.5 foot as well. No promises, though.
