For six decades, Nicks Boots has produced some of the highest quality footwear on the planet. The Spokane-based brand has built a cult following for its handmade boots, crafted exclusively with American materials that are tough as nails.
Now, you can get a jacket that meets those same exacting standards. In collaboration with New Jersey’s Heat Straps, Nicks has leveled up the classic Type III, otherwise known as a “trucker jacket,” to its final form.

American to the bone
The body boasts a lusciously fuzzy three-ounce roughout leather, sourced from Seidel Tanning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It’s then topped off with a 100-percent wool lining and solid-brass YKK hardware.
Like your typical Type III jacket, there are two side entry hand pockets, along with two snap closure chest pockets and an internal patch pocket.
However, the chest pockets are a patch design, as opposed to the inset design typically found on examples from brands such as Levi’s — a variation that helps to prevent stashed objects from pressing into your chest, especially when you’re dealing with a material as burly as leather.
