Even before it became a legend, the 992 was special.

First released in 2006 to celebrate New Balance’s 100th anniversary, the shoe promptly earned lasting notoriety as the go-to sneaker of the late Steve Jobs.

Years later, its status as an icon among icons looks as strong as ever, thanks to a batch of new colorways entering the brand’s Made in USA catalog for 2025.

Chief among them? A deep-green variant dubbed “Dark Camo.”

Dark and handsome

Like the original, this 992 boasts an upper defined by premium suede overlays and a breathable mesh base. However, here they’re colored in a fall-friendly green that verges on brown.

That hue also extends to the back half of the midsole, which is famously supported by New Balance’s Abzorb technology in both the heel and forefoot.

Reflective accents sit throughout the design, but the shoe is decidedly understated with dark gray serving as the secondary color for the lining and laces.
