Just a few weeks after the iconic denim brand teamed with Heydude on a denim-inspired shoe, Lee is diving back into the footwear game with another collaboration — this time with luxury shoemaker Oliver Cabell.

The two have teamed up with limited-edition low-top sneakers that, according to the website, celebrate “Oliver Cabell’s commitment to artisanal shoemaking and Lee’s innovative denim.”

Italian leather, distressed denim

The Lee x Oliver Cabell Sneaker takes the low-top silhouette and many of the same design elements of Oliver Capell’s signature Low 1 sneakers. It features a 3oz full-grain leather upper that’s stitched Marche, Italy, but adds Lee’s hand-distressed Italian denim to make the sneakers look well worn.

Regarding the color of the shoes and the wash of the denim, you have two different options. First, there’s white leather with light-wash denim. Second, there’s navy leather with dark-wash denim.

According to the product page, the “sleek silhouette and purposefully worn-in look makes this sneaker a versatile option you’ll choose to wear again and again.”

Made in Italy

The sneakers have several other premium features and design elements — all of which are “made in Italy.”

They have durable Italian Margom outsoles that, uniquely, have a clear design that lets you see through to the shoe. The footbed is made of Italian calf-skin; there’s also a removable cushioned insole. And the laces are made of Italian cotton, as well.  

According to the product page, the collection “merges tradition and modern luxury with handcrafted sneakers in distressed denim and premium calfskin leather.”

Price and availability

The Lee x Oliver Cabell sneakers are available now in both men’s and women’s sizes. They cost $269 a pair. You can buy them from either Lee or Oliver Cabell’s websites or in one of Lee’s brick-and-mortar locations.

Although these sneakers are advertised as being limited edition, it’s unclear how many of them are being made or for how long they will be sold.
