Already this year, Hoka dropped a new version of its best-selling daily trainer; rereleased an iconic trail runner; and mass-produced an exclusive collab from 2024.
All to say, the brand makes a ton of exciting shoes — but none quite like the Elevon X.
First released last fall, the shoe belongs to Hoka’s lifestyle lineup. However, the “X” in its name means it features a midsole plate akin to high-performance super shoes, blurring the divide between fashion and function.
Now, the shoe will serve as a canvas for Spencer Badu’s first-ever shoe, adopting a one-off update courtesy of the up-and-coming Canadian-Ghanaian designer whose clothes have dressed celebrities like Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky.

Fashion and function
Technically speaking, the Spencer Badu Elevon X features the same midsole plate as the existing Elevon X, complete with extended winglets as seen on Hoka’s top-of-the-line Mach X 2 and Tecton X3.
