The Nike Swoosh is one of the world’s most recognizable brand logos. Its value to the company is priceless, but if you prefer to think in hard numbers, Forbes estimated that the Swoosh logo alone was worth $26 billion in 2015.
Maintaining this brand value must partially explain why Nike rarely releases sneakers with customizable swooshes, no matter how much consumers might like the idea. And let’s be clear: buyers definitely like the idea. Why else would TikTok be littered with videos of hacks, tips and tricks for customizing the look of the swoosh?
That said, the unique sneakers Nike has released lately with swappable and adjustable swooshes have all followed a similar approach.

In 2018, the brand released a special Air Foamposite Pro As QS version ahead of the NBA All-Star weekend featuring interchangeable velcro swooshes. A year later, in 2019, the Nike Air Force 1 ‘Swoosh Flavours’ series also allowed buyers to swap between six different bold swoosh colors that velcroed onto the shoe similarly. Other models like the Nike Union x Air Jordan 1 KO Low released in 2023 and various unique versions of the Nike Blazer have boasted the same trick.
Nike’s new collaborative takes on the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 OG’ and the Air Zoom Victory Tour 3, made in partnership with Eastside Golf, offer a new take on removable swooshes we’ve never seen before.
