First spotted at Paris Fashion Week in June, the iconic Adidas Gazelle goes wild. Really.

The classic sneaker, originally released in the 1966, typically stands out in bright solid colors like red, blue and green. Now it’s blending in with an exclusive camo colorway, courtesy of an unlikely partnership with an up-and-coming brand.

The shoe is a collaboration with Metalwood Studio, a vintage-leaning golf label that blends sport with streetwear.

“We look to engage with our visitors by creating a nostalgic wormhole via a collection that includes vintage-inspired clothing, accessories and golf equipment,” the brand says on its website.

Here, the text “Metalwood,” printed in gold, replaces “Gazelle” next to the leather stripes, a move typical of Adidas collaborations like the recent example by fellow sportswear brand Sporty & Rich.

To match the camo-printed leather, the Adidas x Metalwood Studio Gazelle features black accents, including the tongue, heel and those famous Adidas stripes. It also has a gum sole, instead of the typical white rubber found on the Gazelle.

The news comes hot on the heels of other news from the German sportswear giant. Adidas recently celebrated its 75th anniversary with commemorative editions of the Samba, Gazelle and Spezial.

Meanwhile, another one of its retro shoes, the SL 72 OG, made the quarterly Lyst Index, which ranks the hottest products in the world of fashion.

Availability and pricing

In a teaser on Instagram, Metalwood Studio confirmed that its collaboration with Adidas will come out on Friday, August 23, at 2PM ET — exclusively available on its website. It costs $140.

Even though it comes in a wide range of sizes from 4.5 to 14, don’t expect it to last long before selling out.

Update: The Adidas x Metalwood Studio Gazelle is now sold out.
