Along with revolutionary fleece pullovers and puffer jackets, outdoor clothing brand Patagonia is well-known for its sustainability efforts. The brand’s progressive repair program and Worn Wear program, a collection of secondhand Patagonia products, are just a few of the many steps Patagonia has taken to reduce waste. Its latest effort takes one step further.
The ReCrafted Collection deconstructs old Patagonia products which can no longer be repaired and upcycles the materials to make new garments and bags. The collection is sewn in Los Angeles includes a down jacket, down vest, Synchilla sweater, t-shirt, tool kit and four types of bags, all of which are one-of-a-kind.
The launch of ReCrafted is available through Patagonia’s Worn Wear site but can also be seen in person at Patagonia’s first dedicated Worn Wear pop-up location in Boulder, Colorado which will be up through February 2020.
