The Heat Behind Everlane’s New Parka

Everlane has perfected crafting wardrobe basics, but that doesn’t mean the products are basic themselves. 1. A good use of plastic: Each one of the ReNew Parka’s shells are made from about 64 plastic bottles. That is a good use of all that plastic, but that’s not the only sustainable bit. The down insulation comes from 100% PrimaLoft which is made from recycled fibers as well. In fact, the only things not recycled in the parka are the trim and zipper — but Everlane is working on that too.

2. Fight the cold: This parka is recommended for temperatures from 0 – 35 Fahrenheit. The water-resistant shell keeps the moisture out and the wind at bay. It also comes complete with a storm hood for those extra nasty days. The oversized cut also means you can layer up for added warmth — but the waist adjusting cord will also let you slim it down.

3. Pockets that will warm you: The two hand-warming pockets on the ReNew Parka are lined with fleece, so you will be able to heat your hands up nice and fast and keep them nimble enough to operate your smartphone in the depths of winter.
