Oakland retailer Standard & Strange just released a new hiking boot with Feit unlike any you’ve ever seen before. The Metal Unlined Hiker is made by hand by a single craftsperson and features a single-piece brown suede upper with natural edging. The style is inspired by alpine hiking boots and features Goodyear construction with brass built into the welt of each boot for protection and stability.
The design has a cork footbed, bamboo shank stabilizer, Vibram outsoles and metal speed hooks. Limited to 30 pairs — in sizes 8 to 11 — these boots cost $950. While not necessarily a splurge purchase, they’re a great option for someone who wants a unique boot that puts handwork front and center.
