Luxury German brand Montblanc teamed up with Japanese streetwear brand Bape to produce a collection of limited-edition bags and accessories. The much-hyped release features versatile Saffiano leather products printed with A Bathing Ape’s signature ABC camo pattern. The collaboration features a slim document case, a medium portfolio, a pen pouch and a wallet.
In the same vein as the much loved Supreme x Louis Vuitton collaboration, this collection merges the worlds of street style and high-fashion luxury with much success. Montblanc was founded in 1906 and made a name for itself producing pens. Though the brand still makes writing utensils, it now also produces luxury watches, jewelry, eyewear, luggage and leather goods. Bape, on the other hand, was founded in 1993 in the Harajuku neighborhood of Tokyo. It’s original patterns and countless collaborations have garnered it a hallowed position in the pantheon of streetwear brands.
So in this collection, well-crafted leather bags and accessories geared towards a mobile life are plastered with one of the most iconic green-and-brown streetwear patterns — the hype is definitely justified. If you want to pick up a piece before they sell out, the collection will be available in select Montblanc boutiques and Bape stores.
