Ralph Lauren originally launched the first full Polo Sport line in 1992. It was a massive success at the time, capitalizing on a prevailing sentiment in the late 1980s and early ’90s that hungered for conspicuous activewear and (relatively) attainable status symbols. The clothing was so popular that individual pieces became collectibles, and more than 25 years later — Polo Sport ceased to exist in 1998 — serious fans still swap archival pieces on the secondhand market.
Today, Polo Sport fans have some all-new gear to get their hands on. The iconic line is back with two capsules packed with 1990s nostalgia: the Denim Collection and the Silver collection. In the Silver Collection you’ll find two jackets, two pants, a vest, a waist pack and two caps; in the Denim Collection, there’s a smaller three-item lineup of one jacket, a cap and one pair of jeans. Each piece is a limited release, which you can pick up through the Polo mobile app (available through iTunes and the Google Play Store) as well as in select Polo stores nationwide.
