Maine Mountain Moccasin just updated its hard-wearing 7 Eyelet Field Boot for spring. For the seasonal refresh, the brand utilizes Tazman Cumberland Palm roughout leather for the upper, a weather-proof leather tanned in Maine. But, the most conspicuous new element is the Vibram ripple sole which features deep, aggressive treads. Originally designed for paratroopers in the ‘50s, this impact-absorbing design performs well on a range of hard surfaces (it’s also a favorite of respected outdoorsman and photographer Wyman Meinzer).

Priced at a very reasonable $399, the 7 Eyelet Field Boot features a double-vamp mudguard, a full leather midsole and True Moccasin construction. It’s available in sizes 7 to 13 and can be completely re-crafted after years of wear. So if you’re in the market for a noticeably bold boot this spring, put this on the top of your list.
