Swedish rainwear brand Stutterheim has just released a heavyweight fisherman sweater that is worth its weight. Part of Creative Director Alexander Stutterheim’s new collection called The Private Designs, it’s a nod to Stutterheim’s late grandfather who inspired the creation of the brand. “With the launch of The Private Designs I’ve been diving into his wardrobe, trying to reinterpret and modernize some of the timeless pieces I remember him wearing,” Stutterheim said in a statement.
The Norrviken turtleneck sweater is hand made in Estonia. It features a heavy 3 gauge fisherman rib which is knit using a high-quality Japanese wool-camel blend. The sweater has raglan sleeves and a contrasting stitch where the sleeve and body are connected. This stitch is traditionally used as guidance for the knitter during production and is retained here for decoration (it is easily removed if you would rather have an unadorned sweater).
Available in dark gray and off-white, this limited-edition sweater retails for $395. While pricey, the sweater’s materials and craftsmanship speak for themselves — this sweater is designed to last.
