When designer Todd Snyder led menswear at J.Crew, he introduced a range of collaborations with heritage brands. “Collaborations were really where I knew I could turn the corner on creative things that weren’t necessarily branded by the same company,” he told us. When Snyder started his eponymous brand in 2011, he continued his focus on co-branded products and has released collections with Champion, Timex and Red Wing.
The brand also has an ongoing collaboration with New Balance and has released a handful of exclusive sneakers over the years. The latest style — the 990V3 Pale Ale — just hit the market as an extremely limited 200-piece release. Made in America, it features an upper with cream and grey tones complemented by accents of vegetable-tanned leather.
Retailing for $199, the sneaker is available only online in sizes 8 to 13. If you’re looking for a neutral shoe that everyone else doesn’t already have, don’t sleep on this one.
