Ralph Lauren’s New App Was Made for Polo’s Biggest Fans

The new app lets users carry the American heritage brand in their pockets.

In 2018, there’s precious little you can’t buy from the screen of your phone. And with everything from coffee beans to grain bowls to toothpaste available within a few clicks, taps and swipes, it’s not surprising that more and more style brands are making our favorite clothes that much easier to get.

That includes Ralph Lauren, which released an app dedicated to its flagship brand Polo as part of its 50th-anniversary celebration. (You’ll find it Apple’s App Store by searching, you guessed it, “Polo.”) The app, essentially, puts the entire universe of this uniquely American brand in your pocket. Through the app, users can shop all of Polo’s various collections, from suiting to polo shirts, denim and more. They’ll also be among the first to access exclusive collaborations and other limited-edition product.

Later this week, that’ll include a collaboration between Polo and the New York Yankees, timed with the team’s game against the Boston Red Sox. At the game, Ralph Lauren (the person) will throw the opening pitch. To celebrate this partnering of two global institutions from the Bronx, Ralph Lauren (the brand) and the MLB teamed up to create a classic baseball jacket, a New Era cap, a Wilson baseball glove, and a commemorative ball from Rawlings. All of while you’ll be able to find on the new app.
