Outlier’s new Runflat Merino T-Shirt is one of the most technically advanced tees on the market. The catch? It costs a hefty $275. A product of one of this brand’s many experiments with fabric and construction, the Runflat is virtually seamless on the inside thanks to utrasonically welded and taped seams (this super flat construction reduces the chance of chafing when exercising). The shirt is cut from a blend of 17.5-micron merino wool and thermobuffering polyester. This combination not only increases the durability of the garment, but also helps with performance characteristics. A blend of hollow core and channeled polyester fibers, it buffers fluctuations in temperature and wicks away moisture to keep you comfortable.

The Runflat tee is made in the US and is very easy to care for — just machine wash warm and tumble dry. If you read this far and are still wondering why it costs almost $300, then this probably isn’t the shirt for you. On the other hand, if you’re in search of the ultimate performance tee and money is no object, it’s certainly worth checking out.
