Made from heavy Japanese nylon.

The California-based brand Freenote Cloth just released a collection of boardshorts that is undeniably cool. Cut from four colors of heavy Japanese nylon, they have the feel and weight of traditional boardshorts, such as those from Birdwell Beach Britches, but they’ve got some serious design upgrades including front and back pockets, a reinforced back panel and a scalloped hem. Every aspect of the shorts is considered down to the corozo button fly, the Japanese waxed drawstring and the triple-needle stitching. While they’re certainly pricey, they’re made in America and built for countless seasons of wear.
