Though it originally launched in 1950 as an indoor soccer shoe, the Adidas Samba quickly transcended its intended purpose and became one of the most recognizable sneakers of all time. It’s been in continuous production ever since and has spawned various iterations over the years. But Adidas’ latest addition to the Samba lineup is meant to be a faithful (read: identical) reproduction of the original silhouette with the same look and feel. As such, it has a soft-grain leather upper, a suede T-toe, a textured gum midsole and a three-stripe motif appears on the heel tab. The shoe comes in either black or white colorways and will go on sale starting June 1st for $80.
