Menswear brand 3Sixteen is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, which means a round of high-profile collaborations is in order. To get things started, the brand is teaming up with Alpha Industries — which made jackets for the US Military for decades — for a collection of three new jackets.
As such, two classic military jackets have been tweaked by 3Sixteen, the M-65 Field Jacket and the M-59 Fishtail Parka. In its original specification, the M-65 was made from NYCO fabric, a particularly weather-resistant 50/50 nylon-cotton blend, but it, as well as the M-59, will now have shells made from an indigo herringbone twill from Japan. An M-65 jacket liner is also available, but since it’s finished with onion quilting and made from Japanese black satin, it is intended to be worn both as a layer and on its own. Both the M-65 and M-59 will sell for $550 while the M-65 liner will retail for $300.
It all sounds good, but there is a bit of a caveat: this is a very limited edition, with only 100 examples of each piece being made. The M-65, M-65 liner and M-59 will all go on sale this Friday, February 23rd, both at select retailers as well as the 3Sixteen and Alpha Industries websites.
