AETHER’s co-founders explain that the brand began as a “detour” when they – two former movie producers – became disillusioned about the direction their former industry was heading in. So they took an unlikely left turn and founded the adventure-driven company.
Today, AETHER creates lifestyle collections built to fuel spontaneous journeys and ongoing exploration. Every piece in their lineup is meant to be “used and abused” and “put to the test against nature and the elements.”
Now, more than a decade into the venture, AETHER offers city, snow and motorcycle gear for both men and women, as well as durable bags, shoes and accessories. Its new Ojai boots join a sturdy lineup of high-quality boots and sneakers and mark another exciting turn –– in the right direction –– for the brand.

What Makes AETHER’s Ojai Boots Adventure-Ready?
As sturdy as they are, AETHER’s new Ojai boots are also remarkably lightweight. This is thanks partly to the fact that they’re constructed from a mix of vegetable-dyed suede and heavy-duty canvas. Of course, these materials also mean the boots are just as ready to tackle dirt trails or desert rock as they are equipped to keep your feet protected on the street.
Their desert-ready build is thanks to the AETHER team’s extensive R&D – conducted during travels to Mexico, Utah, Colorado and (of course) Ojai, California.
The shoes also feature a stacked leather heel and suede treated for extra water repellency. Best of all, the Ojai boot also has a Vibram sole with D3O® insoles – the same AETHER signature protection used across all of the brand’s motorcycle gear.
