Staff Picks: What Our Style Team Likes Right Now

Fashion is confusing.

Every single day, our style team filters through millions upon millions of style articles, clothing pieces, collection launches, brand parties, blogger fads, runway shows, fashion shoots, lookbooks and many, many more stimuli to stay on top of what’s hot in men’s fashion. In spite of all that noise, we’ll keep things simple here: just four things we’re into right now, updated each week.

American Giant Mechanic’s Jacket

This jacket from American Giant is cut from water-resistant canvas that’ll stand up to inclement weather this fall. Made in Oakland, its minimal design features a zip closure and partial lining. It’s well made and timeless — what more could you ask for?

President’s Gregory Shirt in Fine Italian Denim

President’s is a hard-to-find Italian brand going 60 years strong, and their Gregory denim shirt shows why. For one, the rich indigo hue puts the rawest of raw denim to shame. Furthermore, President’s gets all the details right, from the slanted chest pockets to the colored snap buttons (blue on the placket, red on the sleeves). Though denim shirts are a dime a dozen, this one stands out enough that you’ll grab it more than the others in your closet.

Kapital Bandana Patchwork Ring Coat

The Ring Coat is a signature Kapital silhouette, an oversized, double-breasted, hooded jacket that can be buttoned and worn in a variety of ways. This iteration of the coat is loud. It’s a patchwork of vintage cotton Fast Color bandanas lined with indigo-dyed linen fabric. For the person who values esoteric garments and has a spare $6K, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Tender Co. Prussian Blue Striped Reverse Terry Socks

The pigment for Prussian Blue was discovered in 1704 by a chemist from the historical German state. Over 300 years later, this blue lives on, whether in Van Gogh’s Starry Night or on these hand-dyed socks by Tender Co. In addition to the resplendent Prussian Blue hue, these socks are hand linked for a seamless appearance and mold to the foot of the wearer. Socks don’t normally get better over time, but these will.
