Tomorrow, Adidas Originals is releasing a new line of minimalist apparel based on the ethos of the popular NMD sneakers. Drawing inspiration from the shoes’ blend of function — Boost cushioning technology and a single-piece Primeknit upper — and clean design, the new clothing line features pieces like a Primaloft vest, a reversible jacket and a waterproof fishtail parka that can be condensed into a backpack design when not in use. The t-shirts, shorts and sweatshirts that round out the collection are simple and precise, garments that could be added to any wardrobe. Riding the NMD’s wave of success, Adidas was smart to expand the line into apparel because, as time has proven, functional basics are the foundation of every good wardrobe.
