For their Centennial Collection, American luggage maker Korchmar goes presidential. The collection’s seven bags pay tribute to past Commanders-in-Chief. From the Taft (a weekender bag) to the Roosevelt (a luxurious leather laptop case), each piece will give wearers a refined style like the steadfast leaders they’re named after.
Korchmar was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1917. Long a maker of leather goods for high-end brands, the company’s house luggage line is elegant, and the Centennial Collection draws inspiration from its archives. Many of the collection’s designs were culled from Korchmar models from the 1950s and ‘60s, the halcyon days of craftsmanship and stately designs. True to its roots, Korchmar keeps it simple for this collection, handcrafting limited runs of each style in three separate colorways — black, brown and tan — that feature American-sourced leather and brass.
The Centennial Collection is made in America (Korchmar has factories in the Dominican Republic as well) and the heritage references are strong. The bags rely on classic silhouettes and superb materials to make an understated style statement. Among the collection’s seven bags, there’s something for every business and travel need.
