To stave off the cold on a blustery day, few accessories beat the performance of a natural-fiber scarf. Wools and cashmeres wrapped closely around your neck work in tandem with a coat and hat to closely guard your body heat. Scarf variety is a bit foreboding — material, thickness, pattern and length — but once you settle on a scarf that suits your aesthetic, there are only a few ways of wearing it. Here are three simple tips.
The Wrap

This is a classic, functional way to wear a scarf. It works with scarves of various materials and lengths.
Step One. Drape the scarf around your neck leaving the left side shorter than the right.
Step Two. Wrap the longer end around your neck once so both ends fall vertically on your chest.
Step Three. If your scarf is longer, repeat step two.
