When it comes to denim, raw is where it’s at. Those pre-faded, pre-whiskered, even pre-ripped jeans found in suburban malls should be left in the clearance bin. Premium raw denim has been discussed before (here and here), but not all men can shell out for three figure price tags. For less than $50, you get a pair of classic, rigid jeans that over time will not only mold and stretch to your body, but take on creases and fades that are unique to you.
Sizing Tip: Levi’s sizing figures are screwy, at best. Buy them at your true waist size, but at least 2 inches longer than your normal inseam. Shrink them in warm water before you wear them and they’ll fit like a glove.
