Almost everyone has owned a pair of aviators (thank you 2001), and when they realized they were unoriginal, they then bought Ray-Ban Wayfarers (circa 2006). Now you can’t turn around without seeing some variation on the theme – colored rims, lenses, brands, etc. This summer we’ve found a remedy: the Ray-Ban Clubmaster ($145). The iconic design was introduced in 1986, but recalls the era of Jack Kerouac, James Dean and their careless ’50s style. Ray-Ban re-released the Clubmaster in December of 2008 to somewhat of a cult following as compared to its Wayfarer cousin. Updated from the original tortoiseshell and black, a whole range of colors are now available at Ray-Ban USA, but we still recommend going with the classic tortoiseshell frame with crystal green lenses. Sure, the unusual silhouette takes some confidence to pull off, but surprisingly, these specs look great on just about everyone.
