Kicks Inspired by the ’72 Olympics
Brooks Heritage introduced the Speed Varsity collection for spring, riffing on the running shoes of the 1972 Olympics. The Vanguard model is a classic throwback sneaker, with monochrome color-blocking and a sleek silhouette.
After being barred from boarding a flight in Mexico for wearing a turban, designer Waris Ahluwalia called for further employee training on sensitivity to religious passengers. He told New York magazine, “It’s not just about Sikhs. If what happens to me today results in a policy change so that no one else has to go through this, then it was worth it.”
